Monkeypox cases are growing rapidly and health care professionals are discovering variant presentations. VisualDx, with support from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), is collecting real-patient images from emergency physicians.
VisualDx plans to have the images freely accessible to ACEP members to better assist with recognition, clinical care, and education. These images will also be available within VisualDx’s platform.
VisualDx has been committed to providing a comprehensive resource for medical images for more than 20 years. By ensuring that emergency medicine professionals and students have access to a diverse set of clinical images, we can improve healthcare outcomes.

“We are sharing the images in hopes of raising clinician awareness of this emerging disease. As we saw with Covid, rapid access to up-to-date information is the best asset that providers can bring to the bedside. Like with all forms of healthcare, monkeypox disproportionately burdens those who are stigmatized, marginalized, or otherwise victimized by social determinants of health. Through rapid distribution and education, our hope is to further breakdown barriers to patients receiving prompt and equitable treatment.”
