General Medicine- Acute liver failure
- Acetaminophen toxicity
- Other drug-induced hepatotoxicity
- Viral hepatitis (eg, A, B, C)
- Autoimmune hepatitis
- Budd-Chiari syndrome
- HELLP syndrome – pregnancy related
Many hepatic disorders can be associated with a Kayser-Fleischer ring but will not have neurologic findings. These include the following:
- Primary biliary cirrhosis
- Hepatitis (eg, autoimmune)
- Progressive intrahepatic cholestasis
- Primary chalcosis
- Copper intra-ocular foreign body
- Multiple myeloma
